Chargable Tactical Flashlight Ultra Bright Handheld LED Torch

This is one NICE flashlight. The batteries don't come with it but that's easily resolved. You can either use disposable batteries or rechargeable batteries and it has a port for recharging the rechargeable batteries without taking them out.

Its a solid sturdy body flashlight that I will have no worries of it breaking if dropped, indeed, it's designed to be used as a defense flashlight, you can smack someone in the head with it.

By pressing on the power button various lengths of time you can get a strobing, SOS, narrow beam or high beam light. There is a dial on the flashlight for narrowing and increasing the beam. It is BRIGHT. Narrow beam is intensely bright, the wide beam has a wide circle of light it casts. I wouldn't hesitate to use this in the woods with camping or even in caves spelunking. (If I still went spelunking)

In all the time I've been doing reviews this is only the second five star review I've ever done. I've actively looked for a fault with this light and can't really find one.  I will probably be buying a second one for my car, this one stays in the house with all the power outages we have to deal with.

USB cable carry case

With everything these days now being able to charge using USB cables I have aMedusa's nest of them stuffed into drawers and my purse.

I received this nifty little case the other day and it has certainly made things tidier for organizing my shorter usb cords in one slim package as opposed to mad spaghetti pile in a drawer. I've found I can also coil a couple of my longer cables and tuck into the middle area when it's all zipped up.

The case is lightweight and pretty sturdily made, no loose stitches, the zipper is not off kilter. I do wish it had a feature for storing the larger cables in a more organized manner, maybe another compartment.

review of cooking thermometer

I recently got an opportunity to try out a Cooking thermometer produced by Chef Remi. I use my crockpot extensively but confess I tend to overcook stuff in it because I worry it's not done enough. This particular tool will help to allay those worries.

I borrowed a thermometer from a friend to do a comparision between the two for accuracy. They matched on the core temp of the roast I had in. The Chef Remi thermometer is really sensitive though, temperature is updated with the smallest shift of the thermometer. It has a nice long probe so you don't have to have your hand stuck in hot oven or over a hot pot or pan. The readout and controls are quite simple to figure out.
There have been many recipes I've seen on the net in the past that I've wanted to try but I did not have this piece of kitchen equipment, now when I see a candy recipe I know there won't be any guesswork or risk.

Welcome to my new blog.

I blogged for many years on Livejournal, but it has sadly dwindled away. I dabble around on facebook quite a bit, but want a forum where I can write a bit more extensively and isn't a "time waster" format where it's a bunch of Meme sharing.

Meme's are fun and you may occasionally  see one here, but I want a place where I can ramble a bit.

I occasionally do reviews on products, books, or just like to share some new something that has my attention.

I like to cook, crochet, read, and marathon watch any number of things (at the time of writing this I'm watching Asian horror movies. Trying to track down a series called Tomie. Anyone know it?) I like learning new things. I like gaming.

I hope you'll occasionally find something interesting here.
